Dan Whitmarsh, Pastor
A Northwest native, Dan has been at Lakebay since 2006. Previously, he served churches in California and Oregon. Apart from his pastoral work, he writes a regular column in the Key Peninsula News, plays guitar in a bluegrass band and trumpet in a swing band, and has a passion for fly-fishing in our local waters. His love for the people here means he can often be found out and about in the community connecting with others.
Dan has a B.A. in Music from Azusa Pacific University, and received his M. Div. from Fresno Pacific Biblical Seminary in Fresno, CA. He was ordained in the Evangelical Covenant Church in 2005.
He is married to the love of his life Sarah, and they have four teenagers who fill their life with joy, delight, and no small amount of chaos.
Doug Paterson, Lay Minister
Doug is a Gig Harbor native and has lived on the Key Peninsula over 20 years. Besides serving at Lakebay, he is a chaplain with the Key Peninsula Fire Department. He earns his living as a tugboat Captain on the Puget Sound. He has a passion for prayer and for sharing the love of Jesus with everybody he meets.
Doug has a BA in Religion from Faith Evangelical College & Seminary in Tacoma, a Lay Ministry Certificate from the Christos Institute, and is a certified police and fire chaplain. In addition, he has taken classes at Covenant Bible Seminary in Tacoma
Doug and his wife Dorene have 6 grown children scattered across the US. In his spare time, Doug enjoys picking a mandolin and raising chickens.
